So how did today go? It's like my halo is day-glo

In the Cards

*written for someone known in many a lifetime past*

A single source of energy powers this planet
and connects us both in the interwoven mesh.
Though old souls, we strive on within.
Still jaded by the ways of without
and forever longing for what we can't have.
We've found each other,
perhaps as in other lifetimes past,
drawn together by the force of fate
as the message is spelled out
in the cards.

Grenade Free Zone

****written with random quotes from MTV's "Jersey Shore" and associated commercials between approximately 10:30 p.m. and 10:50 p.m. on 8/5/10.****

I loved you too much
that was my downfall
(This is all gonna burn.)

I was in a really bad mood
and I felt like feeling some pain.
It's like going into surgery, right?
'Cause that all hurt so damn much.
We'll never be the same
But you don't care.
Neither do I.

We'll have an all new Hard Times
come Monday at 10.
There's more to Date Night now
But we knew that coming in
I just needed to get rid of
all the stress

The Marksman (I Call it Aim)

Dedicated to Tara
Based on Anna Weber's "The Flood"

The Sugar and Spice they speak of
She embodies the batter
A girl with a recipe for destruction
and a coy smile, shot with precision,
suggesting every bad decision you could make
She can eat you alive
or squeeze you to death
Either way, she's pleased
Chance is, you are, too,
as she shoots that coy smile,
flashes a glimmer of a wink
and turns back to her drink

Some people might call it a hustle
She'd just call it a game
But I call it a different name
I call it aim

She shoots to kill
She's deadly on her draw
like in a Western
She's the quick, you're the dead
She can eat you alive
with a suggestive coy smile

Some might call it a hustle
She'd just call it a game
But I call it a different name
I call it aim
